The quick and easy design of a basic tie allows them to be grabbed and secured within a matter of seconds. The strip is filled with a row of ridged teeth that help to keep the tie in place as you wrap it around through the lip on the other end. The tie, once threaded to the lip, is simply pulled to secure.Releasing a zip tie is a fast process as well. Simply hold the lip down to release the teeth. When you hold the lip down, you need to apply pressure in just the right way. This is an added security feature that makes it difficult for these useful tools to come undone when working. When most people buy zip ties, they do so for electrical purposes. The ties are excellent for holding a wire in place or marking select areas of the home for installation. As an automotive tool, the zip tie not only has a similar purpose, but it also helps with organization.Good organization of automotive parts makes it easy to find exactly what you need at all times. While a zip tie pack usually contains black ties, other varieties allow you to color code your car parts. This is very useful when shipping cables or other long parts that you don’t want to rattle around in a box.Several heavy-duty products are on the market that could serve a similar purpose to zip ties. Velcro straps are popular, but are easy to take apart. Wire holders and other plastic products may also promise to be good with automotive or electrical workings, but these generally have a much higher price. Once the zip tie is secure, it will take a pair of scissors or any other human intervention to get them off. That is why zip ties are used to control crowds during a riot or whenever handcuffs aren’t available. If you are running a small police force in a rural area, a zip tie is preferable to a handcuff because of their low price. Any police force can afford to keep a large store of zip ties on hand whenever a crime is being committed. Police officers who are off-duty can use zip ties if they have to stop a crime when they don’t have the typical equipment available to apprehend a suspect. Broadcom’s Bid for Qualcomm A government panel reviewing Broadcom’s $117 billion bid for Qualcomm has warned that it may refer the potential deal to President Trump for rejection, further dimming the prospects for what would be the biggest-ever technology takeover in history. To get more technological advances, you can visit shine news official website.
In a letter to the two companies on Sunday, the panel, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, said that it believed the offer by Broadcom posed national security concerns. Broadcom is currently headquartered in Singapore, but is in the process of relocating its legal base to the United States to allay those issues. The threat by the panel, known as Cfius, could stop Broadcom’s monthslong quest to buy its fellow chip maker in its tracks. Cfius already ordered a one-month delay of Qualcomm’s annual shareholder meeting, where Broadcom had been expected to win at least some seats on Qualcomm’s board, if not a majority. Under Mr. Trump, several deals involving foreign buyers have been squelched after a Cfius review, including Moneygram’s sale to an affiliate of the Alibaba Group and Lattice Semiconductor’s sale to an investment firm with reported ties to the Chinese government. Broadcom has been eager to speed up the process of bringing its headquarters back to the United States — known as redomiciliation — to address national security concerns about its campaign. On Friday, the company announced that it would move up a shareholder vote on the move to March 23 from May 6. That would let Broadcom redomicile by April 3, ahead of Qualcomm’s rescheduled shareholder meeting. But in its letter on Sunday, Cfius said that it believed Broadcom had violated the panel’s order by moving up its redomiciliation date without enough consultation with the government. In a statement, Broadcom said that its $117 billion plan to buy Qualcomm was always contingent on relocating its headquarters. The company added that it had been open with the government about its plans to relocate, both in announcements since November and in discussions with Cfius. Buying a home for the first time is stressful and expensive.Find the more buying homes from SHINE.And thanks to flat salaries and the skyrocketing prices of fixed costs like college, health care and rent, millennials are buying far fewer homes than the generations that preceded them.
But the young people who are able to purchase a house are making one crucial mistake: They're jumping straight to large new homes without considering smaller models or fixer-uppers.Dana Bull, a realtor with Sotheby's in the Boston area, calls the millennial homes of choice "starter castles." Those homes are often stunning, she tells CNBC: "Whether it's in the suburbs [or not], they're buying properties with new construction, new developments, everything is done to the nines."I think that's great if you've thought about the financial situation and your top priority is having a beautiful place to live that you can enjoy," she says. "But I do think that millennials kind of do themselves a disservice if they don't understand how the numbers work with a fixer-upper."As a 28-year-old real estate agent, Bull understands the millennial perspective towards home buying. You've saved up and want to get the best deal for your money. But she often sees younger buyers fail to explore what else is out there."The biggest mistake isn't that people are buying starter castles, it's that they aren't exploring their options, and they're making kind of a knee-jerk reaction to based on perhaps what they know," Bull says. But any young buyers with the drive and interest in making a few renovations themselves could benefit from customizing a fixer-upper, which are often much cheaper than newer models. If you're buying new construction, all new new new, the second you move into it, it always depreciates in value for a little bit," she explains. "That's different from a fixer-upper where you can go in and you can add value and get the property that you want while reaping the financial benefits of taking the property from zero to 10."However, it's important to know what you're getting into with a less-than-ideal abode. Home buyers should always do their research first to make sure the renovations are something they're able to handle. She warns against becoming "somebody that just opts for the fixer upper and doesn't consider the impact that it's going to have on their lifestyle or their wallets as they're living through the renovations and construction." 3/6/2018 Billy Joe Saunders involved in bizarre naked altercation with David Lemieux after weigh-in controversyRead NowBoth Billy Joe Saunders and David Lemieux were forced to strip naked to make weight for tonight’s WBO middleweight world title-fight, at an explosive weigh-in ceremony which saw both men square up to one another.Find the latest sport news, photos, videos and featured stories on Shine News. However Saunders’ trainer wasn’t convinced and had to be restrained by officials after claiming that the Canadian was over the weight limit. Saunders was next up on the scales and also had to remove his boxer shorts in order to make the 160lbs weight limit, before the two men went face-to-face with the Briton branding his opponent “a p**** boy”.Earlier in the night, Saunders claimed he will draw inspiration from the presence of Bernard Hopkins and Oscar De La Hoya when he defends his WBO middleweight title against Lemieux in Montreal. Both Saunders and Lemieux are also vying for a fight with Gennady Golovkin or Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez when they meet at the Place Bell in Quebec. While Golovkin and Alvarez are considered the world's finest active middleweights, Hopkins is among the best of all time, and unified the division against the highly-respected De La Hoya in a significant fight in 2004.Before Golovkin and Alvarez fought to a draw, Saunders had targeted the winner of their fight in September, but instead travels to his dangerous opponent's home country for his first match-up outside of the UK. Not only am I mixing it with a boxer who is in the top five (middleweight world rankings), but I'll be fighting in front of great fighters I've watched as a kid, like Bernard Hopkins and Oscar De La Hoya,” said Saunders.I haven't been this happy since my amateur days. For the last six or seven months, I've never been happier. I'm excited to get into the ring. I'm excited to get into the ring and eager to put on a classic display. “In my own mind, I know I can deal with (Lemieux), and then with Golovkin or Canelo, we'll see where I really am."Lemieux has won each of his four fights since being stopped by Golovkin in 2015, and earlier this year secured an intimidating knockout victory over American contender Curtis Stevens. Backed by a torrent of venture capital, China has gone sharing mad with everything from treadmills to karaoke booths and napping capsules all up for short-term rent - and at the click of a smartphone.Find the more Shine news from SHINE. With the boom spawning some novel ideas but also warnings of a sharing "bubble" in the world's second-largest economy, AFP lists a number of the services that have come (and gone) in China in the last 18 months. Brightly coloured bicycles kicked off the sharing craze last year and have since threatened to take over pavements and streets.
That sparked a backlash and Beijing and Shanghai are among the cities that moved to lay down regulations. At least two Chinese bike-sharing services have gone bust and it is not uncommon to see officials carting bikes off to a fate unknown. If you are looking for something much more classy, a company in the northeastern city of Shenyang is rolling out a first batch of royal blue BMWs for sharing. Like the bikes, users scan a QR code with their mobile phones - and bingo! A snazzy BMW 1 Series is yours for the rental fee of 1.5 yuan ($0.22) per kilometre, plus the 999 yuan deposit. Forget the sweaty gym and look no farther than a grandly named "shared sports warehouse" -- actually a treadmill inside a black-and-yellow glass-encased box. The company behind the scheme, which just launched, says there are 10 of the pods in Beijing and thankfully they come complete with air conditioning, plus a television to break the monotony. No need to head home for a rest, however, and instead pop in for a snooze at a shared napping capsule (you don't actually share it at the same time as a stranger). But no sooner had these cozy coffin-type structures popped up, the company behind them had a rude awakening when Shanghai authorities quickly closed them down and dismantled them, citing them as a fire risk. Experts say that while China is becoming increasingly wealthy, many people remain very cost-focused. So rather than shelling out for the handbag of your dreams, why not just borrow one? Companies renting out top European-brand handbags say it also means users are guaranteed that they are getting the real thing, not a cheap knock-off. Just don't spill any wine on it. Karaoke ("KTV") booths are springing up in shopping centres and subways, taking China "by storm", says state media. Thankfully they are more or less sound-proof, meaning wannabe pop stars can croon away as loud as they want, and the pods allow you to record yourself and upload your performance to your phone -- so you can show off to/annoy your friends. |
